Goyamboka Beach Sri Lanka - 24" X 36" Original Oil Painting by Raelene Shea - This early morning scene is full of tranquility and I wanted the warm feeling to come through in the cream and orange tones of the sunrise. Early morning meditation on the beach , what could be more perfect. The sky water reflections were painted in one session to keep the continuity of the color and tone. The large rocks came next and then sky glazing over to create the misty effect. Then I let the brush have more freedom to get the movement of the water and it took many glazes to get it right. The play of the sky colour was so important to bring sky and water together to create the atmosphere.
