TWEEDSMUIR PARK AFTERNOON

TWEEDSMUIR PARK AFTERNOON,

Tweedsmuir Park Afternoon 30" x 16" Original Oil Painting by Raelene Shea . - SOLD - Hiking in Tweedsmuir Park is always wonderful and this scene of a gentle creek brings back the memories of the great Canadian outdoors.

This painting was done on a white canvas which I prefer if I want the full light  of mid day. It was hot and we had been hiking for a couple of hours in the Chilcotin high country of Tweesmuir Park. The heat made the distance hills seem to be fading away and this gentle creek offered a good rest stop. The grasses were soft, almost pillowy so I painted them  with many layers of fluffy strokes and only a small amount of detail at the finishing.

I have done several versions of this painting, mostly for fellow hikers who also love the Chilcotin.
