ROCKY MOUNTAIN RIVER

Rocky Mountain River 30" x 24" Original Oil Painting by raelene Shea - This original oil painting is a collage of two scenes that I am particularly fond of in the Rocky Mountains. It combines Moraine Lake and the Yoho River and reflects my vision of grounding through the strength of the mountains and the power of the water.

When painting in oil I tend to work all over the piece as the feeling strikes me, particularly when I need to manipulate  some of the elements to make it  work compositionally. I blocked in the main areas of mountain, rocks, big shadows, and slowly added the details by glazing many layers. SOLD
