FLETCHER LAKE IN THE CHILCOTIN OF BC
Canadian artist Raelene Shea was commissioned to capture the changing colours of the deciduous trees near Fletcher Lake in the Chilcotin area of BC. Amidst the Douglas fir and lodgepole pine forests that dominate this area, small pockets of deciduous trees offer the fall hiker a splash of colour from golden yellows to blazing reds. Soon these leaves will drift down to blanket the path, as the season cycles toward winter. “I love painting fall in BC,” says Raelene, which contributed to the easy flow from photo to canvas when this painting was completed in October.
